Decoration of a room, a place, a building plays important roles in our lives. Lights also play an important role in speaking to our souls though. Different intensities of light brightness have different affects on human minds, and behavior; moreover brightness of light also plays roles in shifting a person’s moods. When talking about lights, lamps are one of the important light objects that come to minds. Different light lamps have different light brightness and different affects. Today, we have finely crafted and designed light chandeliers and lamps that do not just light our lives and buildings but also decorate are surroundings.
Lamps have different categories; light lamps that hang from roof are called as chandeliers, similarly we have table lamps, balanced-arm lamps that are spotlights with an adjustable arm usually attached to a wall or a ceiling. Floor lamp is another type of lamp that has a stand on the floor rather than hanging on walls or standing on tables. These lamps stand on floors and are also used as an ornament. The conventional floor lamps had wooden necks with big shades made of card and cloth. However, contemporary floor lamps are made of various materials and have different shapes and styles. Floor lamps are also sometimes called as torchiere. A torchiere is also a lamp that has a long metal or wooden stand and has branched arms, this is how most contemporary floor lamps are being produced these days.
Although, when we think about lamps we think about a stand and a shade on top of it, however, we find different styles today. We have long glazed glass boxes that stand on the floor and also serve the purpose of a lamp shade altogether. These floor lamps come in all colors and shades. Further, there a some very delicately designed metal floor lamps that are too thin, and have branched arms with glass shades on top. These floor lamps are usually found in living rooms in a house. A new floor lamp that has gained popularity among the consumers is the one made of rough rock. These are made of original rock salts with different colors and sizes.
